Originally known as Carel Adolph Cachet, he added a touch of 'Lion' to his name in 1901. Initially an educator, he transitioned into a versatile decorative artist. He dabbled in batik for textiles, mastered wood engraving, designed wallpapers, carpets, and pottery, and even worked on banknotes and posters. His artistic flair didn't stop there; he transformed the salons of Dutch passenger ships, including those of the Netherlands Steamship Company, into floating works of art.
