George Catlin, a versatile American, excelled as an adventurer, lawyer, painter, author, and traveler, with a focus on Native American life in the Old West. Born in 1796 in Pennsylvania, he abandoned his law career for art and exploration, embarking on five expeditions to document Native American’s lives, producing over 500 paintings and collecting artefacts.
