Gustav Klimt, an Austrian symbolist painter, stood as a prominent figure within the Vienna Secession movement. His repertoire encompassed paintings, murals, sketches, and various objets d'art. Klimt's artistic focus predominantly centred on the female form, revealing a candid eroticism in his works. In addition to figurative pieces, such as allegories and portraits, he also ventured into landscape painting. Notably, among the artists associated with the Vienna Secession, Klimt exhibited the strongest influence from Japanese art and its techniques.
