Artist: Tadeusz Makowski (1882 - 1932)
Tadeusz Makowski, the Polish painter who found his artistic soul in Paris, experienced a transformative journey. Initially shaped by mentors in Kraków, he heeded the call of Paris in 1908, embracing Cubism under the tutelage of luminaries like Henri Le Fauconnier.
During wartime he was beckoned to Brittany, where nature became his muse, inspiring stylised landscapes. Later, his palette danced with the vibrancy of carnivals, fairs, and children, reminiscent of Dutch Masters, Polish folk art, and naïve traditions.
